The Antique Ironing Board: What went wrong

When #salvaging #old hardware, what happens if you make a #mistake? We used an antique ironing board as wall decor and used the old hardware to make a hanger with and other bits of wood to stabilize the ironing board. We took it to our booth at Fourth Street Antiques in Temecula, Ca. It fell off the wall twice! They said it wasn't safe for the customers while they shopped so I took it home. Now what do I do?
