@CamReid4 years ago Thanks Chris! I like the way you did super close up B-roll of it and talked about how it sounds, including the shutter! This will be the closest thing I have to holding one in real life until mine shows up. Also, glad to hear your flippy screen hasn’t become loose over time. ...

@mousse44443 years ago Chris, excellent and very laid back review. I was very impressed as to how you lit up your background. It made me feel like I was in a renaissance painting. I don't know if you did that intentionally, but the result is outstanding. Cheers ...

@AJGalecki4 years ago Im so happy they improved the ergonomics. Everyone mentions how good the grip feels... it was honestly what I was so jealous about with the Canon R's (being an a7iii user). 5

@joebyvictor26193 years ago Great vid mate. Literally got my sub when you gave mini HDMI the middle finger! I’m loving the camera too it’s just so easy to shoot on, I don’t have to think, can just focus on creativity. The AF is sick and footage is coming out stunning. ... 3

@DavidGoods3 years ago I love how the A7s iii side compartments feel so nice and firm, you almost feel guaranteed that water wont get in there! I love my A7siii :) Also, that sensor cap is awesome man! 1

@adrianalfordphotography4 years ago Thanks Chris for sharing your experience with the camera. Looks pretty amazing. I’ll wait till they drop in price when the hype drops off and grab one 👍🙏 1

@TheSlipperySlope4 years ago Agreed. Had it for a month now and it‘s insane. 🥰
Small remark: 12800 ISO will give better image in Slog. For HLG it‘s 2000 (4 1/3 stops over base ISO for each profile as explained in Gerald Undone‘s video). 🍻

@quasiguy3 years ago Well done, Chris. You covered a lot of ground and offered many helpful suggestions. I really appreciated your encouragement about trying to shoot more b-roll handheld. I just ASSUME I'm not going to be able to hold the camera steady enough. But you're right. Maybe I should just turn on Active Steadyshot and give it a go for a day. Thanks for the pep talk. I have one additional beef about the A7Siii's ports. I often attach a Sennheiser wireless mic (which mounts in the hot shoe) and plug in headphones when conducting interviews. With both of these things connected, the flip screen's movement is very restricted. Other than that, I'm really loving the camera. And loving your videos! ...

@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras4 years ago Excellent review Chris. I love my siii. Chris a video request...please consider doing an a7siii video with the polar pro peter mckinnon edition ii vnd filters. Your thoughts on vnd filters - the pm edition ii in particular - would be great. ...

@gixxerboy5553 years ago I like your lens cap very much..looks really professional..
  • @
@danieldougan2694 years ago It's pricey to those of us who are only enthusiasts, but for those professionals who truly need what it does, it's a tremendous value. 1
  • @
@andycaslin3 years ago Great review Chris, thanks. Do you know if future cameras, or even the A1, will have the ability to control the rack focus speed or is that specific to the a7siii
  • @
@joel.wuestehube4 years ago I love the look of your studio set. Maybe you can do a video about it some day. All about lighting, backdrop etc.

@JustDushawn4 years ago Damn u man :) u made this video so good - now i need to make my review of the camera different 😂👍🏻 well done man 1
  • @
@duessel1353 years ago The review is on the best i have see. Thanks! Just one question, how is the mic.? Any wind noise? Sony a 7c is terrible, almost impossible to use without an external mic. outside.
  • @
@WillChidlow4 years ago "cropability is flexibility" 😂amen to that. nice video Chris 👍 2
  • @
@torrolfjohansen4 years ago Great video Chris! You mention you shot the studio portion of this on your a7iii, I'm curious what lens did you use for your head+shoulders shot? Also related, in your gear list, the "Best All Around Lens" field is empty...and I'm DYING to know! :) ... 1

@PaulFeinberg4 years ago Great overview......I want this camera, the storage is going to be a killer though.....not looking forward to that. Awesome video as always. 2

@BradBeaird4 years ago 4:2:0 vs 4:2:2 in 10bit. I can't really tell that much difference for what I've been delivering. 4:2:0 10bit in XAVC HS 4K edits without issues for me in Premier Pro on a PC and seems to grade well. Thoughts?
  • @
@NafisAhmed734 years ago great review chris.. thanks for the storage part.. i should order more sd cards i guess.. One thing i wanted to know is that, when using sigma 24-70 dg dn lens , can you use catalyst browse to stabilize that footage?? 1

@Alastair64 years ago Straight up review, good job. I'm going to stick with my a7Riii for now. 1
  • @
@innomind4 years ago How is this camera when it comes to plugging in XLR mics, or the Sony hot shoe wireless receiver like URX-P03D, is the onboard amp noisy?
  • @
@SaskRiderMoto4 years ago Chris.... Thank you for finally getting this review out. Great job on discussing everything. I been waiting for this review ever since you got the camera.
Picture wise, I understand on social media this will have no issues, but what if I want to print bigger then a 8x10? so a 12x36 or a 20x24, will this still be enough? I don't need 40mp sharpness, just something that is in focus and delivers good images. I am want something that is good in photo department and allow me to learn the video side and grow into it and not out of it due to limitations. I am primary photo right now but eventually want to get serious in YT review videos, real estate photo/video and the odd portrait shoots here and there, but mostly for myself and family use.
I look forward to your thoughts on this. Keep up the great videos.
    Thanks,

@echoauxgen3 years ago More on low light pictures not so much video, Astro Milky Way maybe have to wait till March (I can wait). I agree about 12MP but I have taken some old shots on the A7S re edited and using Topaz Gigapixel A1 and Denoise/Clear AI and a poster size print looks awesome. Oh! and a A7S rarely above ISO 6400 even in the darkest of dark place, night vision - daytime with stars and no moon! ...

@Breacherzerothree3 years ago How do you prevent your cage from scratching your camera?
It’s random but I figure spending that much on a camera body, you would wanna take as good of care of it as you can.
    I’m asking for myself.

@threatnique3 years ago Awesome video Chris ! I’m dreaming to buy this camera everyday ! Can you share the last track in the video as it ends please !?
  • @
@philippscheithauer4 years ago Solid Video, only point i disagree is you saying the a7iii EVF is ok. Its really not, especially if you compare it to the competition. Its just crappy at best and I was shocked when I rented it for a wedding and compared it to my Z6. Glad that I'm switching to the A7Siii in January though :) ... 5

@sodobson3 years ago Im new to all of this. Been learning on the 6600. I want to make the jump up.. but equal to videos as photos. Seems this is more video oriented... and maybe the A7iii more for both? So i may go with the A7III and keep learning,,, and consider this for next years purchase.. hmmm... ...

@TG-he9ph4 years ago My Zoom function Is greyed out. And when I try to use it, it says it’s not compatible with my lens. I use the GM 16-35. Any help? Or do you know the reason for this? Also, are you able to use the active steady shot in 120fps? Mine says I can’t. ...

@cris_stn4 years ago Thanks for this great video Chris !!! Once this fucking pandemic is over I hope to go out there use my a7 iii to make some money with it and in time get this a7 s iii as well. I would love to shoot everything in 4k 60fps if I could and that thought alone motivates me to work hard to be able to buy this camera. A small change in topic though. I need to get a second camera as a backup and my budget is limited to 600€ at the moment and I was thinking of buying a used sony a 6300 so I can still shoot 4k 30 fps and 1080p 120 fps. In your opinion am I making a mistake by looking at the sony a 6300 ? ...

@Davitor14 years ago The Sony A7siii was NOT design for the serious photographer. End of story. And if 12 MP was enough why would Sony bother with a 61 MP sensor like on the A7r4?
