Homemade Cake Flour - I have a lot of question about cake flour and I finally decided to do a video for this. If you don't have cake flour available at your store, don't worry, you can make it at home. All you need are 2 ingredients. Ingredients: All-Purpose Flour Corn Starch Instructions: 1. For every 1 cup (125g) of flour, remove 2 tbsp of flour from the cup and replace with 2 tbsp of corn starch. 2. Whisk well. 3. Sift the flour mixture 5-6 times, until the mixture is very fine and light. 4. Store in an air tight container for later use. 5. You can use for cakes and even cookies. Enjoy! FAQ: Is corn flour same as corn starch? You have to be careful with these 2 flours. At some places corn starch is the same as corn flour. Corn starch that I am talking about is white, and you can feel the flour is extremely fine, almost like glutinous rice flour texture. It is commonly used for cooking purpose to thicken up sauce. Also, it depends where you are from, as some places corn flour is yellow, that is not the same as corn starch. In summary, corn starch is white (not yellow) and a very fine flour.
