The Gabba has a rich history of bringing Queenslanders together. In 11 years’ time, it will become the centrepiece of the Olympic Games hosted in Brisbane. The stadium will undergo a huge transformation between now and 2032. As part of our Olympic vision, The Gabba will be expanded to seat 50,000 spectators. We’re also planning a new pedestrian plaza linking the stadium to the Cross River Rail station. Hosting the Games in Queensland is about so much more than a sporting legacy. It will leave an economic legacy of new investment and thousands of jobs for our state.
