    @vulavula91963 years ago Hi sam,
    greetings from cairns, im a big fan of your blog, im also an avid supporter of electric vehicles.
    im interested as to why e id="hidden1"lectric car manufacturers dont build their cars with a drive by wire
    steering, this would lower the cost of manufacturing by not have a mechanical connection from the steering wheel to the steering mechanism. This way left or right drive could be simplified by simply using a right or left hand dashboard and driver position.
    regards, conrad holland, malanda, qld

    @RedBearAK3 years ago Your us flag image only has 15 stars (and 15 stripes) the size of the blue square is also wrong. Its currently a wider rectangle with 50 stars (and o id="hidden12"nly 13 stripes for the original 13 colonies) and sits on a white stripe, not a red one. The last time we had a flag that looked anything like that was 1795-1818. Just after the revolutionary war and before the rapid expansion of new states began in the 19th century.
    edit: literally just saw this " star spangled banner" style historical flag being flown in some city in another random yt video a couple hours later. But i can' t find any references for why anyone would fly that particular version of the flag. Anyone know?

    @Peter-vn8ue3 years ago Sam its 2023 there will be 6 byd models on sale in australia, with 3 on sale in 2022. Look at the screen shot of the information you put up on the screen, all the anti china trolls and byd deniers that say they will never sell their vehicles here have been busy tapping away on their keyboards it would seem.
    if you are anti china then you don' t have to buy anything they sell, we live in a free country but stop bitching about it and the trade wars and change the bloody record its getting old very fast and i' m sick and tired of hearing the same bullshit.
    to all you sceptical about byd launching here, the reason why the dolphin was delayed in australia is due to 3 reasons 1. The immediate and on gong demand for this vehicle in china means they have no manufacturing capacity to supply outside of china.
    2. The australian market will get a longer range battery for the dolphin here, this has not been developed yet so needs some time to be designed and implemented into vehicles bound for australia and we will probably see adolphin by the time the dolphin reaches our shores in late 2022 (or whatever they call their vehicles for the australian market)
    3. If you don' t like the idea of there being no byd dealerships and buying your vehicle from an online website, the same way tesla sells it' s vehicles, then go and by another brand that has dealerships and stop bitching about it. Byd will have severalcentres" around australia where their vehicles can be viewed as each vehicle come closer to going on sale. You will be able to request a test drive where a vehicle will be brought to your home, so you can test the vehicle, see if it meets your needs and then decide to order one if it does.
    there are some of us that have really looked into byd as a company and see they are not just a flash in the pan and build quality ev' s at an affordable price that are quite willing to order one of their 5 star ancap vehicles straight from the website without requiring a test drive.
    the importer luke todd has said in interviews recently that his company has a dedicated production line at byd in china to produce right hand drive vehicles, for australia, nz and the uk and perhaps other parts of the world where they have righthand vehicles. This allows vehicles bound for australia and nz to be tailored to our market with safety tech, ride and handling changes and ensuring all vehicles sold here have a 5 star safety rating.
    should luke todd go back on his word and we cannot order the yuan plus small crossover/suv in october as he recently has said with deliveries starting in april 2022, then you will have every reason to criticise him right along with myself who will be doing the same, there has been enough headline grabs followed by timeline delays a few months later.
    on the byd blade battery. It' s byd who cover the warranty not the importer who act as the middle man should there be an issue. With the blade battery having the best chemistry and safety, i can see either a life time warranty on the battery or at least 500, 0km or 8 years at the worst as given to owners of byd' s in south america. I can almost guarantee with certainty that the blade battery warranty will be better than anything we have seen for any ev manufacturer currently
