Uma failed Starlings Academy. Sage tries to console her, but it's only making Uma more angry. Sage thinks maybe Uma isn't meant to become a Wish Granter. Either way, Uma is angry. She wants to talk to someone and she remembers that Mal promised to become Uma's best friend. It turns out Mal is nowhere to be found. Uma is even more angry that Mal disappeared without telling her. Freddie is sad that no one wants to be her friend. She says she can be Uma's best friend, but Uma isn't interested. Uma only wants Mal. Jane passes Starlings Academy and she becomes the Fairy Godmother in Training. Her first assignment is Freddie. But Freddie doesn't want Jane to become her Fairy Godmother. Freddie ignores Jane. Lonnie, Ally, Audrey and Jordan are planning a birthday party for Freddie. It's going to be a big surprise. But Freddie is upset that she isn't part of the group. Without knowing what they are planning, Freddie is just upset that she's not part of it. Freddie wants to ruin their plan. Little does she know she is ruining her own surprise party. The Council of Auradon is trying to figure out what to do with Mal. They think Mal is turning into Maleficent. Fairy Godmother thinks even if Mal can't be saved, Jay, Carlos and Evie can be saved. King Beast wants to test them to see if they can be good. Ben wants to tell Mal about what's about to happen to her, but Mal is not picking up her phone. Mal lost her magic. She wants to use dark magic to get it back. Evie says Mal will have to give up something that's equally important as magic. Evie is worried that the price of magic could be something very high like giving up Ben, Auradon or even Friendship. They question what the price of a friendship might be.
