@justgo40333 years ago I rented a levo a few years ago , i loved it , the 7 kilometre climb to the top of the mountain wasn’t easy for a middle age out of shape guy but the motor definitely helped. I was passing fit 20 year olds , it almost felt like cheating lol . You definitely feel the weight on the way down and the jumps but i can see myself getting used to it . ... 1

@billderas34203 years ago Excellent review Rob. You picked up on some great features of the new Levo. Will be watching for what improvements happen to the 2022 version of the SL. 1

@stevenmorgan22023 years ago Amazing review, I want one!!! I'm still blown away between riding a 2019 and a 2021 turbo levo how well rounded and excellent these bikes are. Both generations are just as good.
  • @
@bjrnarkvalen74753 years ago Great info Rob, and great that you mention the motor issues on previous models. I have a Turbo Levo S-works from 2020 and had 4 motor swaps. Im currently waiting on a 5th as the same issue that sounds as its coming from the belt / cogs. Im realy at a loss, but I hope Specialized will honor me with a version of their new 2021 motor that hopefully will last. ...

@dougrodriguez49775 months ago I just purchased a 2023 comp carbon. Really like the motor and all the app functions. The shocks are ok but I can see upgrading them after a year or so of use. The a
Original alloy handlebar is brutally rigid, grips and handlebar will be the first upgrades. I’m a 59yo guy with 30+ years of mountain bike riding experience, the bike is transforming my riding style and teaching me new ways. I’m having fun.
My motor so far is extremely quiet.

@glynnbuxton33493 years ago Really well presented, edited and produced. I thought it was so detailed yet still had a carefully chosen script to not overdo it so I was utterly convinced that honesty was evident. A bike this price must be at the top end of indulgence so I see how hard it must have been to hold back the gushing. Maybe the price tag had something to do with that, but maybe, ..just maybe it might be worth that? ... 1

@stuartmoseley3 years ago You don’t need to buy a bike that costs 8k-13k to enjoy the sport of Mountain Biking. 52

@boxster98173 years ago I like in my 21 levo that there's no display at all. Initially I thought maybe i'd miss it, but now I love it cause I concentrate on the views of nature than on numbers. Reduction of information is a true art nowadays, it brings so much more relaxation. ... 8

@neekodevinchi3 years ago I'm so glad I brought my Status 160 so I can acclimate myself to the mullet style of riding.
Super hyped for the new Levo but MY DAYZ, THEY'RE EXPENSIVE!!!!!.
I'll have to give this some proper thought as to whether I buy one. And in the grand scheme of things, it's not like it has rendered the previous models obsolete.
Looking forward to your comparison video between the new model and the previous model rob.
Keep up the vids mate and keep on shredding 🤘

@ckmolenaar3 years ago It is really a masterpiece but those prices are insane 28
  • @
@Ronburgundy753 years ago Those prices are ridiculous. You’d have to be off your meds to spend that much on an ebike, especially when you can get so much more, for so much less. 116

@chriscastor83283 years ago Rode a Levo SL rental last year and loved it. Just one day on that bike and I was 100% sold on e-biking. I appreciate that bike even more now that I'm lugging a 24kg monster around. That said, not sure I could ever buy one of these. "Settled" on a YT Decoy Shred. I'll take the extra 2 pounds and deal with the slightly smaller battery for a 50% discount in price. ...

@Rooney_the_grey_bird3 years ago With the price increase, im happy to still have 2 years left on my 2019 levo.
I will be waiting for the warranty to run out, before I upgrade to another. I know there's a big selection to choose from nowadays, but I find specialized to have the best customer service, and that my friend's, is priceless with a emtb 💯😉 ...

@pierresiepka52103 years ago Hello Rob ! Always a great video and i still have pleasure to watch this kind of video.
Regarding what you said on the bike, Specialized has done some huge and welcomed changes.
Prices seem to go wild, in my opinion. We'll see the euro conversion.
If i had to buy an ebike right now, i think i'd go for the SL version.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the same kind of evolution on the SL, and hoping for a quieter motor too ;)

  • @
@adrianneale36003 years ago Awesome Video Again Rob, nearly like it as much as beat your screen time video, love the bike though I think people will have a easier time (gulp) with the price if you are able to update the TCU battery etc so when they spend this much on an amazing bike they arent having to change 2 years later to keep up with electronics/tech etc. Great lighting, Great Music, Great Presentation and camera work still smashing it Rob ! Just to add a few days after this comment Looks like Specialized are going to sell the screen for older Levo's and kenevo's, high five Specialized ! for making it backwards compatible ! Awesome !just to say have now been on one, and well best bike I have ever riden ! ...

  • @
@andrewhurrell073 years ago Great video Rob top quality as for the levos they're stunning bikes when I think of them and compare them to anything else it's like comparing the iPhone to android phones very expensive compared to others that do the same for a better price keep the videos coming great quality lately 👍 ...
  • @
@briankoehn16473 years ago Holy Cow Rob! I love the Video, everything about it! You have put a lot of time and effort into learning how to engage with your audience and I am absolutely blown away with your quality and arrangement. I think the 20% increase in price across the board for Specialized is more supply chain related and I am hoping to see prices go down in the next year or two. All the manufacturers keep changing the game with new technology it's hard to look for a previous seasons model without feeling left out. I Still LOVE Specialized bikes and the Levo is firmly on that list ever since I test road one in 2018. Which year model should I be looking at since the 2021 is so obviously out of reach? And, at 5 foot 6 inches in height, should I go for a Small or a Medium? ...

@mikrr21753 years ago I watched your vid about 2019 levo. Thought, this guy is awesome and I like the bike. Went out and bought one.....

@glenpattenden83823 years ago Fantastic video Rob and bike looks great 1
  • @
@CrotZari3 years ago Looks sensational! But SO expensive! I would worry over being robbed with a bike like that. After being robbed at the store. :) Seriously, it´s a dreambike for sure. The combination of high price and the low stock in shops will mean that I´ll never see one in real life though. I am just lucky I have my trusty Haibike from 2019. Last year was insane in regard of how few bikes actually was sent to retailers here. I am not sure 2021 will be a better year. It is great to have your videos to watch, it allowes us to see that innovation and new bikes are still coming. Good work! ...

@patrickhenderson4882 years ago had me entertained the whole time I was hooked well done
  • @
@michaeljames85343 years ago Great video Rob. For an S-WORKS that colour scheme looks poor to me, as they usually pop and look expensive to even a layman. Meanwhile the upgrades and improvement made all appear to make sense and to a degree were expected. I recently waited a long 7 months for my 2021 Levo, due to covid and the extra demand. Specialized added a very cheeky second price increase 4 months in which got very little coverage, luckily my bike shop honoured the price when my deposit was taken. I was hoping you was going to touch on their plans for a full range, as I know initially brands launch their top end models first and it would have possibly reduced us all moaning about the price of the bikes, but they do have us over a price point barrel. I can see loads of Gen 2 owners, like me going mullet and asking if the TCU can be updated? Keep up the quality channel. ... 1

@douglampkin13 years ago Great video Rob. I own a 2020 S-Works Turbo Levo and wanted to upgrade to the 2022 version. BUT looking at what they have done to the price is just crazy and makes me angry. No upgrade for me. 2
  • @
@turbolevo87033 years ago If it is true that they are starting at 9k then that is simply too much and many people will look elsewhere.
They need a base model for £6k maximum.

@Coolcmsc3 years ago Rob, thanks for this. Exciting indeed. The motor — I do hope the bearings are better and the ‘waterproofing’ works having had to return a 2020 Levo with the 2.1 and all the upgrades for a full refund after 14 months of horrible electrics (the ride was fun).
I’ve replaced with a Santa Cuz Bullit S build..... Same price as the Specialized entry level and the EP8 in real world riding is very similar to the Brose (yes, it won’t win silly races up fire roads, but on the 98% of hills that are ridden by the 98% of riders, the EP8 is a match for the Brose to within an easily forgettable whisper0.
Up hill, the Bullit is a whole generation better than the 2020 Levo and remember the Bullit is 170 front and rear.
Downhill and on Singletrack, thanks to modern frame and motor location design, the is way more of a bike than I can exploit — taking coaching for that — whereas the 2020 Levo wasn’t able to keep up with me....
It’ll be interesting to hear over next few months if the Gen 3 Levo will match a Bullit all round. As the same price for the as the new Gen 3, let’s see... I hear the 2022 Bullit prices are going up a bit and I don’t know about the specs.

@mikebebb92683 years ago S-Works pretty unobtainable for the masses.
If I was gonna spend 13k on MTB’s, I’d buy a 6.5k eMTB & have 6.5k left over for an MTB.

@tonyp_emtb32933 years ago Amazing trails, where was this filmed. Bike looks ok as well 3
  • @
@chuckdavis5723 years ago $15,000 is insane. In 1997 I bought the most expensive bike you could buy. A Kestrel rubicon with Kooka cranks. Ringle stem/post/headset/stem/bars. Magura brakes, Judy DH, Ringle hubs, etc. Literally the best of everything. It cost $5,000 at the time. Inflation adjusted that's $8,350 today. The kestrel was made in USA. This Specialized is made in China. We're getting screwed ... 5

@robhaskins30683 years ago Good presentation Rob. How is it that my 2018 carbon comp levo has been a Mullet with 150mm cranks and a super quiet reliable powerful smooth software updated motor for over 3 years now with a TCD glued on the top tube.
What did I and they know in 2018 before specialized went backwards, only to get back on track now.
I like the adjustable steering head and chainstay. All done before in 1970's on Can-Am motorcycles. E=Mtb²

@14TacomaDR3 years ago Just 2 months my 2021 Turbo Levo and I need a new rear derailleur .The gears started grinding when I was shifting .Stopped to check it and one of the arms that support the jockey wheel was broken. Guy at the shop said the arm was worn like a rock had been logged in it. So no warranty.
Fortunately they have the part and I should have it back tomorrow.

@jimmykatsaounis34763 years ago Great bike but I’ll wait another season or 2 before I commit to another Levo I was in the repair shop more than I was riding.
Bought a Cube last year a Solid Beast maybe not as nimble but insanely reliable No repairs no issues so far, touch wood! ...
  • @
@sadphil013 years ago water ingress on the motor was where the cranks are, no seals on them (watch performance line video where he strips the motor down & beefs up the clutch & adds seals).
  • @
@seantaylormtb71703 years ago Hey Rob, great vid as always, and anyone that just thinks you are advertising a product doesn't either listen or watch your channel regularly. But this is a shame, Spesh in my view are heading the wrong way. I have a Levo (as have put before) gen 2 i guess, 2018 carbon, was £5k i have changed the geometry with longer ZEB fork, have Ohlins coil shock, crank Bros eBike wheelset etc. Zero issues with motor on my bike after a few BPW and other park trips and hundreds of miles. Over £10k for a bike that will be out of date in 12-24months is nuts, tbh i'm still pssd they don't offer a battery upgrade for my bike (??). Most of us governed buy price not just the best at any cost. If buying now I wouldn't buy a Spesh even though really they are still the benchmark. That bike for me just isn't worth the $$$$, after all ride is everything. ...

@WFOSA673 years ago I just don’t know, my 2019 Levo comp has been frustratingly unreliable in the 2000 or so miles I’ve done. To give credit my LBS has been brilliant and it hasn’t cost me a penny but the thought of being a guinea pig again is majorly off putting and that’s before the massive price hike is brought into the consideration 😳😳 Great review Rob, many thanks😎 ... 3
  • @
@marcusoutdoors49993 years ago Big question, if my motor breaks on my 2020 Levo, can they replace it with the new motor? Or to put it another way, can you replace a Gen2 motor with a Gen3 unit? Obviously I don't need to say how fantastic the video was, very nice riding and filming. Your production values are just getting better and better. ...
