@rickstevenson95852 years agoI’d love for eBay to go after the “premium buyer” versus focusing on growing the platform by adding droves of lowball deadbeat buyers that counteroffer 3 times to drive you down to the lowest price you’ll accept then never pay and tie your items up for 4 days. ...20

@ForbiddenDiary2 years agoChris, I'm surprised you said nothing about the huge change to the Promoted Listings Standard fee calculation. Currently, the fee is assessed on ONLY the ITEM price. Beginning June 1st, the PLS fee will be assessed on the TOTAL price. So, if I chose 5% as my PLS rate, and my item is $100 with $40 postage and $6 sales tax, today I pay ebay $5.00 (5% x $100 item price). Starting in June, I'll pay ebay $7.30 (5% x 146.00). Sellers who use Promoted Listings Standard really need to be aware of this, because that can cut into a seller's margins pretty quickly.... ...24

They are still changing me the 5% fee, even though am a top rated seller. Ebay issue is I had one return in the past 12 months, but it happened right after I became top rated. @thehappyhunter33692 years agoWhen you started talking about coupons and how much you made off the coupon it exactly expressed how I think ebay is stepping on their own foot - sometimes asking for money and more fees is not the answer to making more money - these fees will just be passed on to customers. I think customer service is important, however I think more people shop on Ebay to find better price, better selection, used goods, unique goods. I think if they reduced their fees (more so and especially on shipping) it could result in greater sales. I think they are headed in the wrong direction. ...5

@travisrusko2 years agoI have a question, but first here is a little bit of an explanation. I strive to respond to messages as soon as I get them and ship my items within one business day. And I have 180 reviews and 100% positive feedback. However, I've recently started putting items on my store that are presales. eBay allows this as long as you can ship the item within 30 days. I always state clearly that they are presales and I adjust the handling time based on when the presale is supposed to ship to me. However, I've recently run into issues with the items being stuck at the manufacturers due to manufacturing delays. In every case, I updated my buyers along the way with detailed info on the status of the item as well as screen shots with my updated delivery estimates from my suppliers. My buyers have been great about this and really appreciate the communication concerning their ship dates slipping. So my question is this. If I am keeping my buyers updated and maybe even reaching out to eBay when this happens, can I still maintain an Above Standard rating for my account? Or am I risking destroying everything? ...1

I am above standard in every category but they are just pushing the fees too far. .35% every year is getting too far. Why don’t they ever have rewards for great sellers? @ihaveanidea69302 years agoWell I've never really commented on much but I guess my earlier comment was to crass for this community. But I stand by the fact that ebay has fostered a terrible buyer pool. They need to set simple straight forward rules for buyers to follow, not let buyers run all over small sellers. You can call small sellers weak all you want, if you want to be mega power sellers go to Amazon it's set up for that. You guys sound like a paid ebay promoter and its really sad. Because I've gleaned a lot from you over the years and thought 10k on the bay was cute & cool. I've been reselling a long time, I've seen people killed by bad or Karen buyers. I can agree the evil china sellers and drop shippers can take a hike, but you have to consider the small honest sellers, who's account can be literally ruined by a run of spoiled lier buyers who are used to playing Ebay's system for a refund. ...1
