I wanted to take a few minutes to talk about Vitamin B5 which is also known as Pantothenic acid. It’s water soluble vitamin and an essential nutrient for our body.
It is required to synthesize a compound called Coenzyme-A (CoA), which is used to break down fats and sugars for energy. More generally, it is used by the body to help synthesize and metabolize carbs, fats and proteins. It’s used by the body to create red blood cells, which carry oxygen around our body as well as cortisol, a stress hormone.
In this video I talk about vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid. Some of the potential benefits include lowering cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and HDL cholesterol; help with Wound healing, Rheumatoid Arthritis, diabetes and complications including ulcers and peripheral neuropathy, improving athletic performance, skin problems, allergies, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, colitis, depression, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and many others. Good sources include Fresh meats (especially beef, poultry), Fish (Salmon), Fresh vegetables, and whole unprocessed grains.
